We're getting the band back together!

We're Back!!!!

It's been awhile, since January 2017 actually, since the four of us practiced together.  A lot has happened since that time; weddings, moves, job changes, family changes, musical opportunities and new music!

In no time at all we were back in the groove of things. It was fun to watch us recall chord progressions, harmonies, capo/vs no capo, and solos.  We cheered for one another, it was exciting!
And there was laughter.  The delicious laughter of friendship with a colorful history. After running through our set we enjoyed new music and WOW, you've got to hear these new songs that Trevor and Cindy have each done.  I'm in love with them!

We enjoyed the day with Jeff, Amy and Marcel (band family) and ended our long practice with dinner together. We plan to practice regularly and book gigs in our near future, let us know if you have an event you'd like us to play at. Oh, and I have to show you, when we unloaded Cindy's car with equipment through the garage,  we laughed at Trevor's jeep that will filled with skeletons having a joy ride.  Never a dull moment around here!

USU Graduation and Studio Time!

We are so proud of Cindy and Emeline for graduating from USU this month.  Each of them has a Bachelors of Social Work and will start their Master's program soon!  There was a huge turn out of friends and family.  We partied all afternoon and we performed "Graduation" for everyone!
A unique performance stage; the stairwell in the front entry, but it was so much fun!  This was our first acoustic set, and it sounded amazing!  We even played "Green Grass" with Cindy's Dad and laughed and sang along, until Cindy broke another string!

On May 7th, we did something we've been hoping to do for a year now.  Oh, hey, did you catch that?  We've been together for a year now!!!  Happy Bandiversary to us!!!  Anyway, we've been hoping to be ready to go into the studio and record some of the songs that have never been previously recorded by Cindy.  We did it!!!!!  We went to WhySound in downtown Logan and recorded all four instruments and two vocal parts, live!  It was such a rush!!!

We had planned on doing four songs but ended up doing six!!!!  I was really impressed because it takes a lot of work, and attention to detail when you are in the studio.  I was impressed by Tim Moes, our sound engineer, he worked hard for us.  We were silly at times, had to re-tune several times, and when a track isn't going well, and you screw up bad enough, turns out you just say a swear word and everyone stops.   Pretty sure we don't want that in the middle of one of our songs!!!!  We laughed a lot and overall were proud of our accomplishments!  We did: Push me away, Serenity, Let me go, Dive, Graduation, and Phobic.  Once they get mixed we'll make them available.  Whoo Hoo!!!

Private Party last Friday

We were invited to play for a birthday party for our friend's 18 year old daughter.  The night was so much fun!  The teens were hyped up on sugar, lots of sugar, and they danced and cheered and made us laugh.  They colored the table cloths with markers and Cindy helped them out.  There was a DJ after our set and we stuck around to eat cake & ice cream and dance with the crowd to "Single Ladies".  Thank you Alenae for inviting us to play and for taking all of these great pics!

What's up for 2015???

We started off this New Year with a BANG!  We went together to a huge party with a ton of our friends, we danced 'til 2 a.m., played games in our hotel rooms until 5, then got up early for breakfast and off to the movies.
We didn't get a chance to perform until February 7th when we played for birthday bash for several of our friends.  The theme was "Black Out" and we turned off all the lights and used glow sticks and flashlights.  It was so much fun!  The crowd was great and they sang with us, danced (even in a conga line!) and played percussion with me.
The big news so far this year is this:  we are in a competition called Hard Rock Rising against 182 other bands.  It is all based on votes and today (Feb 11) we are holding the NUMBER ONE spot!!!!  They will invite the top 9 bands to compete in a battle of the bands in Denver, Colorado on March 25th.  The winner of that competition goes to Barcelona, Spain in July!!!!!!  We are super excited!  If you haven't voted yet, it just takes one minute and you can do so here: http://www.hardrockrising.com/#/4627?artist_id=1297764&voting_token=b80dc3046e210e49b0ac27a95ee5ac5f

We have some plans in the works to play in Las Vegas, Boise and more local shows this year. We just submitted our application to play Summerfest in Logan!  I've always wanted to do that!!!!  Cindy also got us on the radio in Park City!  I can't wait to see what else is in store for Accidentally Involved this year!!!!

Single's Christmas Party

We were invited to perform at the mid-single's Christmas party in Smithfield on December 12.  We had a band practice that was much more laughing than playing music!  I wonder if we've ever finished a set list during a practice...hmmm...not sure!  We did sing "Once there was a snowman", "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" and learned the Three Amigos salute, but we probably should've practiced "Weightless" since we haven't done that song since this summer, and Cindy will end up singing the 'French toast and eggs' line three times when we did perform it (hee hee).

We had a ton of our awesome friends at the dinner and performance, they danced, cheered and Brenda even danced on stage with us (love you!!!).  After our set Trevor acted as DJ for the dance.  We had a blast even when our group of friends got in trouble (yes, as in yelled at) for some of our shenanigans.  This time it was all Cade's fault (that's our story and we're sticking with it!) ;)

After the dance, we tore down our equipment and went to Trevor's for an after-party. Our friends Carl and Debbie had an Oculus Virtual Reality headgear thingy and let all of us take turns.  OH MY GOSH!!!  I was able to scuba dive in the Artic!!  You can look above, below, behind and everywhere is an incredible view!  I didn't like it so much when a shark swam up to me (I screamed!) and it my heart was racing as two whale sharks slowly came up behind me and one swam underneath me.  I reached out as if to actually touch a narwhal who swam beside me for awhile. This technology is INCREDIBLE!  What a rush!!!!  We stayed talking and laughing with about 20 friends until the wee hours of the morning.  All in all, a perfect night!

Fa la la la la...

Accidentally Involved played for a company Christmas party at the Four Seasons event center.  It was a lot different than most of our gigs.  There were a few hiccups before we got started, but everything worked out.   I think the biggest difference was how quietly we needed to play because the guests were dining so close to us.  We adjusted volume for most of the night.  We did finally get into the groove and we played three sets of music.   The guests were gorgeously dressed, they played games  throughout the night and there was a comedian too.  They fed us a delicious dinner and they danced with us (this is a bit of a tradition now) when we tore down at the end of the night.  Guests even offered to help us load up, which we are always so thankful for!  A few of us off-loaded at Trevor's then sat around the fireplace with blankets and great conversations.

House Concert in Providence with Barry the Wooden Indian

I miss going to dinner parties with other couples.  I hope and pray that there is a day in my future when I get to be on the arm of my second sweetheart, a man in my future, and sitting around treasured friends laughing, dancing, eating, and talking for hours.  In this chapter of my life my sweetheart is my band.  They always make date night fun! ;)   This party that we played at was full of beautiful couples, who love one another dearly.  The food and conversations were so enjoyable!   They were so kind to us, they cheered after every song, danced to our music and then during the break, we all danced together.  The night was perfect!  One of the guests asked me if we enjoy playing house concerts and my answer was "Absolutely!"  We hope to follow their example and have dinner parties of our own for years to come.  Here are some pictures and video of the night:
